Our mission
Working with our community to strengthen families and
promote the well being and safety of children and youth.

Our Values: The child is our priority.

Chatham-Kent Children's Services exists to serve the needs of children and families within the Chatham-Kent Municipality.

Services offered include:
- Child Protection services (formerly provided by The Children's Aid Society)
- Children's Mental Health services (formerly provided by The Lester B. Pearson Centre)
- Child Development and Prevention services (formerly provided by Heritage Children's Centre)

Our service delivery places a value on:
Service Excellence, Responsiveness, Innovation, Collaboration, Diversity

As an amalgamated agency, we base our services on these facts:
- A continuum of integrated services in a multidisciplinary setting provides the greatest flexibility of quality services to meet the individual needs of children and their families
- Easier access to service through a reduced number of access points is provided by a single point of access, a set of risk screening and assessment tools, improved service coordination and in-home and community-based service delivery
- By responding earlier to young children and their families who are at risk, the need for more intrusive services and dependence on government funded services can be reduced in the future
- With limited resources for those in need of intervention services, the system must ensure that those most at risk will receive essential supports
- Customized services that are provided through use of the single use contract and wrap around services will ensure that families and individuals will receive services that respond to their needs
